
The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked off a surge in gardening and farming interest in Singapore, as many flocked to develop their interest as pandemic safe havens due to its eco-therapy effect on mental wellness and food resiliency and security issues taking centre stage in Singapore. SIP and our SEED@SIP community partner Urban Wilderness SG were featured in The Straits Times on 28 November 2021, with SIP featured as one of the unique spaces that offer farming plots to the public to encourage the community to pursue their interest in growing their own food and gardening interest. The article showcased various farming and gardening community enthusiasts who took the opportunity during the COVID-19 pandemic to fuel their interest in growing plants or edible vegetables.
